Washington’s 2030 Gas-Powered Car Phaseout Bill

In March, 2022, Washington State enacted a bill requiring a planning process aiming to prohibit the sale or registration of gas-powered vehicles in the state by 2030, the fastest such target in the nation. The legislation establishes an interagency council tasked with creating a plan for achieving the 2030 target.
