Swedish End of Life Vehicle and Producer Responsibility Regulation

Sweden adopted a 1997 Ordinance on Producer Responsibility (SFS 1997:185), which required manufacturers to accept ELVS free of charge and established a system for their management. Sweden has also adopted producer responsibility legislation for newsprint (SFS 1994:1205), tires (SFS 1994:1236), packaging (SFS 1997:185), and electronics (SFS 2000:208).
