Mississippi Rules Regarding Pore Space

In 2011, SB 2723 authorized the Mississippi Oil and Gas Board to approve the use of reservoirs for injection and storage of CO2 provided that a majority interest in the reservoir has provided its written consent. The board is also authorized to unitize (i.e. pool) a reservoir for use as a facility for geologic storage of CO2 after a majority interest has provided its written consent and after a public hearing.
