Arizona Neighborhood Occupantless Electric Vehicle Legislation
Arizona’s SB 1333 (2022) regulates neighborhood occupantless electric vehicles — a self-propelled motor vehicle that: 1) is emission free; 2) has at least four wheels in contact with the ground; and 3) complies with the definition and standards for low-speed vehicles set forth in the federal law. The law allows such vehicles to be operated on a highway that has a speed limit of 45 miles per hour or less. It specifies rules for operating occupant-less electric neighborhood vehicles on highways and certain roadways.
