Vermont’s Universal Recycling Law

Act 148 of 2012, Vermont’s Universal Recycling Law, bans food waste, including from households, from disposal in trash and landfills on July 1, 2020. Act 148 provides incentives to divert materials by requiring municipalities to implement variable rate pricing for residential customers.
