A 2015 MIT study, The Future of Nuclear Energy in a Carbon Constrained World, assessed that current regulatory systems are flexible enough to accommodate licensing of advanced reactor designs. It recommended certain modifications to the current regulatory framework that could improve the efficiency of licensing reviews.
