Oregon’s Advanced Clean Trucks Rules
In November 2021, Oregon adopted elements of California’s Advanced Clean Trucks Rule, which requires manufacturers of medium- and heavy- duty vehicles to sell a certain percentage of zero emission vehicles beginning with the 2024 vehicle model year. Oregon also adopted the Heavy Duty Low NOx Omnibus rules which require heavy duty vehicle manufacturers to comply with tougher NOx emission standards, overhaul engine testing procedures and further extend engine warranties to ensure NOx emissions are reduced; as well as updates to the low emission vehicle (LEV program) rules to ensure they are identical to California’s current light duty vehicle emission standards.
