NY REV Proceeding

The Reforming the Energy Vision proceeding in New York is a comprehensive effort to change how utilities perform system planning, what financial incentives they face, how they make use of distributed resources, including energy efficiency investments. One notable pilot is the Brooklyn-Queens Demand Management project, which seeks to defer the need for a $1.3B utility substation by sponsoring DER, EE, and demand management.  The project is considered an overall success and Con Edison is looking for ways to expand it.
