NY Energy Storage Target

In 2018, the New York Dept. of Public Service issued an Energy Storage Roadmap calling for an energy storage goal of 1.5 GW by 2025.

In January 2018, the Public Service Commission issued an Order establishing a 2030 target of 3,000 MW and deployment mechanisms to achieve both the 2025 and 2030 energy storage targets.

In April 2020, the PUC issued its first “State of Storage” annual report, showing 706 MW in capacity in 2019 (about 24 percent of the 2030 target), and finding approximately 9,779 MW of energy storage projects in various interconnection queues.
