Maryland’s Energy Storage Grant Program

In May 2022, Maryland enacted a law establishing an Energy Storage System Grant Program to issue grants to individuals and businesses to cover a portion of the costs of energy storage systems installed after January 1, 2025. Grant awards may not exceed: 1) $5,000 for an energy storage system installed on residential property; 2) $150,000 for an energy storage system installed on commercial property; and 3) 30% of the total installed costs of the energy storage system.
