Minneapolis floor area ratio bonuses for efficiency

The Minneapolis Code of Ordinances (2016) provides floor area ratio premiums in the downtown district for buildings that increase their energy efficiency by a minimum of 35% compared to the Minnesota energy code. This allows a developer to build a taller building on the same lot size. The additional floor area ratio premiums can be added with other allowances to create an even greater incentive to build higher.
