Massachusetts Forest Cutting Practices Act

The Massachusetts Forest Cutting Practices Act regulates commercial timber cutting of wood products greater than 25,000 board feet on any parcel at a given time. The statute requires forest owners to submit a forest cutting plan, upon which the state conducts a field review to ensure that best management practice are utilized and that forest regeneration standard are met.
