Maryland’s Clean Trucks Act of 2023

In April 2023, Maryland passed the Clean Trucks Act of 2023. The Act requires the Maryland Department of the Environment to adopt regulations by December that establish sales targets for manufacturers through 2035. The law is geared toward adopting California’s Advanced Clean Trucks rule, which serves as a model for states making the transition to emissions-free vehicles.
