Hawaii’s Major Project Interim Recovery Mechanism

In a 2013 Order, the Hawaii Public Service Commission created the Major Project Interim Recovery Mechanism, which incentivizes utilities to invest in infrastructure that enables renewable generation by allowing utilities to place those costs into customer rates outside of a general rate case.
