Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act

The 2015 Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act included two freight-related programs: the National Highway Freight Program (which funds infrastructure investments directly) and the Nationally Significant Freight and Highway Projects Program (which provides projects with other forms of grants or credit assistance). It also direct DOT to establish a National Multimodal Freight Network, which could be used to prioritize federal and state funding in order to maximize the impact on improving multimodal freight infrastructure.
