Delaware’s Code for Energy Conservation

Delaware’s Code for Energy Conservation requires the state’s Energy Officer to establish programs to promote the construction of zero net energy homes. By 2026, all new residential building construction in Delaware must be zero net energy capable, meaning efficient enough to achieve zero net consumption if the homeowner installed on-site generation. By 2031, all new commercial building construction must also be zero net energy capable.
