China’s Circular Economy Promotion Law

China’s Circular Economy Promotion Law (2008) requires local and provincial planners to consider circular economy issues in any planning effort. The Law calls for the state to set resource reduction goals for steel, non-ferrous metal, coal, power, oil processing, chemical, building materials, construction, paper-making, printing and dyeing. It has been criticized for having very few enforceable provisions.
