California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program

Under California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program, electricity customers are awarded up to $5 million per project for generating electricity behind the meter using qualifying new or emerging distributed energy sources or combined heat and power.

In January 2020, the CPUC authorized $830 in funding for this program through 2024 (Decision 20-01-021).
