Virginia’s Urban Tree Planning Legislation

Virginia’s SB 461 requires the Department of Forestry, in coordination with a Technical Advisory Committee composed of stakeholders, to develop a Forestland and Urban Tree Canopy Conservation Plan by November 2026, and update this plan at least once every five years.
