Vermont’s Residential and Commercial Building Energy Standards

An update to the Residential and Commercial Building Energy Standards was adopted on December 18, 2019, effective September 1, 2020. Key changes include a solar ready residential stretch code, tightened ventilation requirements, and electric vehicle charging requirements in both the base and stretch codes.
