Proposal for a Frequent Flyer Levy

Fellow Travelers’ Proposal for a Frequent Flyer Levy suggested a taxation scheme in the UK whereby each citizen is granted one tax free return flight per year (for equity reasons), but frequent flyers are subject to an increasing tax rate for each additional flight they take. The New Economics Foundation reviewed the plan’s potential to hit climate targets.
