New York’s Offshore Wind Portfolio
New York recently awarded contracts for 1.7 GW of offshore wind in response to a 2018 NYSERDA solicitation, pursuant to the state’s existing master plan to build 2.4 GW of offshore wind. These projects are due for completion in 2024. New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act raises the state’s ambition further, targeting 9,000 MW of offshore wind energy by 2035.
