New Jersey’s Executive Order on 100% Clean Energy by 2035

In February 2023, the governor of New Jersey signed an Executive Order tasking the Board of Public Utilities with the development of an Energy Master Plan that would advance clean energy market mechanisms and other programs in order to provide for 100 percent of the electricity sold in the State to be derived from clean sources of electricity by January 1, 2035, building on a 50% by 2030 goal in the State’s Clean Energy Standard.
