Maryland’s GHG Reduction Requirements through EERS
Maryland’s HB 864 directs the state’s public service commission to establish GHG emissions reduction targets for utilities as part of a suite of revisions to the state’s EmPOWER Maryland efficiency program. Electric utilities will need to achieve at least the GHG emissions reduction equivalent of annual electricity savings of 2% in 2024, 2.24% in 2025 and 2026, and 2.5% for each year after that.
