DOE’s Water Power Technologies Office has launched a new grid research initiative—Hydropower and Water Innovation for a Resilient Electricity System (HydroWIRES)—to understand, enable, and improve hydropower and pumped storage hydro’s contributions to reliability, resilience, and integration in a rapidly evolving electricity system.
