California Emissions Trading Scheme

California’s cap-and-trade program covers nitrous oxide emissions from power plants, nitric acid facilities, and transportation fuels. If these facilities generation 25,000 tons of CO2-e or more per year, they are considered “covered entities” and must obtain emissions allowances.
